Have I been travelling or just on holiday?

I hate it when "travellers" think of themselves as avoiding the beaten track and only going to places are that aren't comercialised.

Did you pay to get there? Yes? Then it's commercialised.

But I have done some extended travels / holidays (whatever you want to call them) and I would recommend each route:

July 2001 (1 month trip): Inter-railing around Europe after placement year

July 2005 (3 week trip): Europe

September 2007 (3 week trip): Europe once more

October 2015 (5 week trip): Ten years at Expedia Inc. celebration tour
